Nazareth Academy in La Grange Park, IL. never took home a State Championship. My Grandson played on the varsity in 2013-2014. My husband, Joshua's grandpa had died that October. He was a football coach for over 35 years. Nazareth had a great coach, Tim Racki. They started winning games and winning and winning. It came all the way down to the practice just before going to State. Let me say the opposite team was Lamont High. Talented and large. I went to the practice. It was 5 below and I am from Arizona. They were all in the sport trailer eating lasagna. I asked for Coach and then I prayed and declared that the Lord knows him as a friend and he will win the championship. The next day I came to give him the Iron-on Scripture of the two above. That night seven players came down with the stomach flu and two were in the hospital emergency getting fluids by intravenous. The next morning on the way to the Championship game, there was a sick bus and a well bus and the coach was throwing up on the well bus. When they arrived,the boys hit the field.A young man playing for Lemont had a pass to catch to make a state record. The game went no where,until the fourth quarter and here came the pass. It appeared to be in slow motion. You could see the two players from each side come together and their hands touched and the ball went into our players hand. The atmosphere changed, you could feel the excitement and we won the game 24-14.

Later Joshua said, "Nana, everyone said it was a miracle."I believe in miracles so of course. I have told this before but never wrote it down. There were great odds that we would not win, but what came up are  the words, we are more than conquerors through You Jesus and we can do ALL things through You and You strengthen us. 

You can figure the rest out for yourselves. I just loved that moment of Victory. I say those same declarations into the future of those young men and their Good Coach. Amen.
